Darlington's lead at the top of the Ebac Northern League could be cut to only one point today, following the postponement of their game last night.

Quakers were due to face Guisborough Town at Heritage Park, but a frozen pitch meant the game was postponed at 3pm yesterday.

After overnight freezing temperatures, Darlington called in referee Geoff Liddle who deemed the pitch unplayable.

The match has not yet been rearranged.

It is the first fixture Quakers have lost to the weather this season, and the first game called off at Bishop Auckland's home due to the weather for over 21 months.

Manager Martin Gray had been hoping for a win to, temporarily at least, extend Darlington's lead over second-placed Spennymoor Town to seven points, but now Moors have an opportunity to close the gap.

Jason Ainsley's side, still unbeaten after 19 games, are today at eighth-placed Dunston, from whom Quakers signed Terry Galbraith this week.

The left-back would have made his debut last night, so his first outing in a black and white shirt will have to wait until Tuesday when Darlington are due to face Hebburn Town at Heritage Park.

Meanwhile, Quakers have announced ticket arrangements for their home games this month against Spennymoor and Bishop Auckland.

Although the matches have not yet been designated as all-ticket, fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance.

They go on sale this morning from the club shop in the covered market, Darlington.

Ticket prices will be £8, £4 concessions (over 60, full time students, Armed Forces) and £2 children (six to 16 year olds, under six free).

There will be seating available in the new stand for £2 on the day, and car parking is available as usual for £3 in the new car park behind the March Hare pub.

*Darlington were planning to ask season ticket holders to collect a paper ticket prior to these games to ensure entrance (with no charge). But after feedback from supporters, the club scrapped the plan late last night.
