WE are told (Echo, Sept 16) that once the new upgrade of the A1 is complete between Leeming and Barton, journey times for the 13 mile stretch will be reduced by 20 per cent.
Well, that is two minutes 40 seconds cut from one’s travelling time.
This project has cost £380m and nearly four years of disruption, delays and frustration.
Was it worth it?
