BEFORE the Wensleydale Railway sells off the family silver (D&S Times, August 25), I suggest they take a hard look at their marketing.

In Yorkshire we have a brilliant tourist organisation, Welcome to Yorkshire.

I have been on their website and located “things to do in North Yorkshire”.

In this area, I searched “railways” and lots of good stuff about the North Yorkshire Moors Railway appeared but nothing else.

So I then searched “Wensleydale Railway”. Total blank.

No wonder the Wensleydale Railway struggles financially if this prime marketing tool is ignored. What other changes are needed to effectively promote the railway?
