GIVEN there are at least six North Yorkshire towns, excluding York and Harrogate, that benefit from a bypass, might I suggest that the powers that be get their act together and deliver a much needed bypass for the county town of Northallerton.
An eastern route linking Thirsk Road to the south with Stokesley Road and Darlington Road to the north would reduce through traffic considerably. I understand a recent road improvement and building fund has been set up so let’s take advantage of this opportunity to reduce the chaos of traffic congestion in Northallerton.
Richard Forster, Northallerton
