I HAVE just read that Victoria Embankment alongside the River Thames is the second worst road in London for parking problems and congestion.

Well, in my view, Victoria Embankment alongside the River Skerne is probably the worst road in Darlington for parking problems and congestion and a pot-holed and broken road surface.

This road is used by commuters to Darlington that work at the town hall, the Royal Mail, the teachers’ pension office and other town centre employers. These commuters are too tight to use the ample parking in the new multi-storey car park which is largely empty.

When any new plan for parking is devised for our Victoria Embankment, I hope the road will be resurfaced before the new road markings are applied.
