I REFER to your newspaper article re Yarm Town Clerk being intimidated (D&S Times, June 23).

Yes, there have been problems regarding the management of the allotments and disputes between tenants and the Garden Association.

However, in my opinion and that of many of my independent colleagues, I believe the full facts of the situation described by Mr Price are open to interpretation and are lacking in a full and fair investigation of the true circumstances referred to.

Furthermore, I find it ironic that this article comes hot on the heels of a below-par performance by the council in meeting the safety guidelines set out for holding Yarm Gala coordinated by Mr Price as town clerk.

Coincidence or an attempt to bury bad news? Even newly-elected Teesside Mayor Ben Houchen said the safety exercise by Yarm Town Council was shambolic, yet half of the councillors held responsible were not kept in the communications loop regarding safety shortcomings as notified by Stockton Council.

Maybe Mr Price should keep his body cam switched on when meeting members of the independent Safety Advisory Group so we can see what advice was given and ensure it is acted upon?
