YOUR report about the increase in rubble fly-tipping over the last few years (D&S Times, June 2) refers to the fact that: “Much of the tipping is done at or near recycling centres.”
This comes as no surprise. It was just a few years ago that householders started to be charged at the recycling centres for tipping rubble.
How about going back to free rubble tipping for householders at recycling centres? This might well highlight such a link and thus might well ease the time, effort and taxpayers’ money that has to be spent clearing up the fly-tipping.
