Sir, – Your correspondent, Coun Michael Heseltine, quite correctly presents the case for the traffic calming measures in Skeeby (D&S letters, Oct 22) .
However, the solution must surely be to install flat platform bumps as in Brompton on Swale.
These slow the traffic and do not cause damage to the inside wall of front tyres – I have had to replace two so far. These maybe more expensive to install but are safer and more satisfactory all round. Problem solved.
