Sir, – Richmond is home to a number of beautiful, often hidden gardens, and Richmond Town Council would like to invite the town’s gardeners to enter this year’s garden competition, so they may reveal and potentially be rewarded for their efforts.
The annual garden competition will be held on Wednesday, June 30, and the town council welcomes entries from any garden- proud residents of the town. There are categories for large, medium, small and patio gardens as well as a category for businesses.

Judges, including representatives from Millgate House and Ravensworth Nurseries, will be visiting the gardens on Wednesday afternoon, and then a number of the gardens will be open to the public on Saturday, July 3.
Anyone who would like to visit the gardens can get information and a map on the day from the tourist information centre in Victoria Road, Richmond.
