Sir, – I feel compelled to write as the D&S falls through my letter box with the leading news article in the County Durham edition being yet again about Hurworth – and dog dirt no less!
Is there no other newsworthy issue that could adorn the front page or is it, as any reasonable person could only conclude from viewing past editions, there is a disproportionate obsession with Hurworth in articles that appear in the newspaper.
It seems that according to the journalists at the D&S the world revolves around Hurworth.
My annoyance is compounded by the fact that a notable and positive investment in the refurbishment of the new Co-op store in Cockerton village, and the involvement of my children’s local school (Cockerton), gets the briefest of mentions on page 5 – the tiniest of articles.
Just thought I would bring this imbalance to your attention and hope that it can be redressed in future publications – or is it just me ?
DAVID BOULTON Westlands Road, Darlington.
