Traffic collision leaves passenger dead

A collision involving two cars has left a woman dead and a man in a serious condition.
The incident happened on Scalm Lane, in the Bishop Wood area of Selby, at about 2.20pm today.
The woman, in her 50’s, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the male driver of the car was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries.
The male driver of the other car was uninjured.
The road was closed while the incident was dealt with and diversions put in place.
