TWO thugs blinded a Lewisham man by tearing his eyeball out with their bare hands, a jury heard.

The accused, Thomas Jennings, of Cricklewood Lane, Kilburn and Wesley Foster, of Hollybush Walk, Brixton, both deny the attack on Kenneth Kingsford while he travelled on a bus to north London on September 15 last year.

It is alleged a scuffle broke out between Mr Kingsford and Foster, aged 18, and Jennings, aged 21, after the security manager asked them to stop throwing biscuits about the bus.

The Inner London Crown Court heard how terrified women and children screamed as they witnessed the brutal attack on Vauxhall Bridge.

Mr Kingsford told the jury last Friday his horrific ordeal after being pinned down on the floor of the 36 bus.

He said: "I managed to knock a hand away from my left eye but by the time I had done that he had already put his fingers into my right eye and pull it out of its socket.

"I looked down on my shirt and realised there was a lot of blood. As I moved my hand further up my shirt my eyeball was actually sitting in my hand."

The trial continues.
