May 29, 2001 9:36: A THAMESMEAD primary school which failed its previous Ofsted inspection has been cleared of serious weakness by the education body's latest report.
Windrush Primary School in Bentham Road, Thamesmead, held a fun day for pupils, parents, governors and teachers in recognition of their achievements.
Youngsters were treated to a disco and a picnic lunch outdoors while parents toured the school and its facilities.
The highlight of the day came when hundreds of balloons were released to celebrate the report.
