OPPORTUNITIES for the future will be on offer to the region’s students as part of a mass careers convention.

Yarm School will host representatives from the North-East’s leading employers and higher education providers to offer and guidance to pupils considering their next step.

Companies, including PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Bellway Homes, the Nuffield Trust and Specsavers, will be joined by representatives from more than 30 universities and colleges to discuss employment and apprenticeship opportunities.

Stephen Edwards, head of careers at Yarm School, said: “The Career Convention will provide students and their parents with an insight into life beyond secondary and sixth form education.

“It is also a chance for parents to ask questions and understand the vast opportunities that are available for their children.

“It is shaping up to be an informative and exciting event, which is open to pupils from across the region, and particularly those who are gearing up for their GCSEs or A Levels.”

Students are welcome to attend the convention in Yarm School’s Princess Alexandra Auditorium on Tuesday, November 1, from 6.30pm.
