TO celebrate the European Day of Languages at the start of this academic year, Newcastle University and the Association for Language Learning (ALL) North East launched a photo writing competition.
Students throughout the region took photographs of a conversational scene and produced foreign language dialogues to explain what was happening in their pictures.
This week the modern foreign language department at Teesdale School received a letter from René Koglbauer, the President of ALL North East, who congratulated Teesdale students on their excellent French submissions.
Amy Parratt (Year 8) came third in the region for Key Stage 3 entries and Sally Watson (Year 13) had a prizewinning entry due to the originality of her work. They both received special commendation for the quality of their pieces and won £20 worth of high street vouchers.
The MFL Department are extremely proud of these two students and are sure that Teesdale students will have similar success in next year’s competition
