TIME is running out to nominate your school, your teacher or your classmate for The Northern Echo Schools Awards 2015.

For the second year running we are looking for the best-performing and most outstanding schools, classes and individuals from across our region.

While many of you have nominated schools or individuals there is still time to join in this celebration of educational excellence.

With the final closing date for nominations on January 30 you still have time to get your school, teacher or classmate’s name in the spotlight.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, which attracted 80 nominations , new entries are sought for 12 categories.

Schools, classes and individuals will compete for a place at the awards ceremony at the Xcel Centre in Newton Aycliffe on Tuesday March 10.

Last year’s memorable awards ceremony was attended by 270 guests, staff and pupils.

Carmel College in Darlington carried off the inaugural school of the year title after more than 90 per cent of Carmel students gained five A*-C grades at GCSE including English and maths .

Details on how to nominate schools or individuals can be found by clicking on the Schools Awards logo on the Northern Echo’s Education Zone at northernecho.co.uk
