UNIVERSITIES in the region still have limited places available for students who are in clearing or have still not found the right course.
Durham University has some vacancies for students to study a range of business and pharmacy courses but candidates must have at least an A and two Bs in relevant A-levels. For more information visit durham.ac.uk.
Similarly, Newcastle University has a number of places remaining but a spokeswoman said they were looking for “exceptional” students with a minimum of an A and two Bs. Students should check the website ncl.ac.uk.
At Northumbria University there are still limited vacancies on some courses and students are advised to check the website Northumbria.ac.uk or ring the clearing hotline on 0191-406-0901 between 10am and 4pm.
Teesside University has a 24 hour clearing hot line (0800-952-0226) and on Saturday, August 16 is holding a clearing fair for prospective students between 10am and 3pm for prospective students. For more details go to tees.ac.uk.
Sunderland University also has some spaces left for clearing and interested parties should check the website sunderland.ac.uk or take advantage of the university’s Open Day on Tuesday, August 19 between 9.30am and 4pm.
