A TOP school is producing high-flying staff after achieving an Investors in People Gold Standard accolade.

Nunthorpe Academy has been awarded the coveted badge in the same year it is celebrating its Golden Jubilee.

Following a review of how it supports members of staff and works with them to develop their skills and talents, its standard was upgraded from bronze to gold, which only two per cent of organisations across the UK receive.

The secondary school, on the outskirts of Middlesbrough, was given an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted inspection last April and retained its status as the highest performing school in Redcar and Cleveland in January 2014.

Lee Brown, Principal of Nunthorpe Academy, said: “The team ethos is very strong at the academy and all colleagues are equally valued and encouraged in their work to ensure that our pupils receive the very best education and chances in life.

“A happy working environment is extremely important as it motivates members of staff and students to achieve even greater success.”
