Firm helps team kick off in new kit

A COMPANY has stepped in to ensure school children are as smart on the football pitch as they are in the classroom.

Pupils at Ingleton Primary School, near Barnard Castle, have brand new football kits after a parent agreed to sponsor the team.

The kits, which are yellow and purple, the school colours, were bought by Darlington based Todd’s Highway Maintenance.

Linda and Darren Todd’s son, Charlie, is a member of the football team.

The company also paid for new sports coats, which can be used for other school activities such as cross country and dance events.

Judith Pressley, headteacher of Ingleton Primary School, said the sponsorship was greatly appreciated.

“The children absolutely love the new kits and hopefully it will be a real boost to them,” said Mrs Pressley.

“The old football kits were worn out. We have quite a young football team so we thought it would be nice to get them some good kit that they can use for a while.

“We only have 54 children at the school so there is always a chance for them to play in the team if they want and this will make playing even better.”
