MEMBERS of the public are being given the chance to immortalise their favourite stars as part of a spectacular new piece of artwork at The Globe Theatre in Stockton.

Steller: The Stars Fell on Stockton will be an art installation designed to pay tribute to the galaxy of famous stars who performed at The Globe over the years.

Work is ongoing to refurbish The Globe which lay derelict for many years.

The artwork will involve colourful light strips being installed in the paving outside the historic theatre as well as 15 spotlights, each etched with a portrait of one of the Globe’s past performers. Ten famous faces including The Beatles, Buddy Holly and The Rolling Stones have already been selected, leaving five final spotlights left to fill.

CHARITY CHOIR: Marske Fishermen’s Choir helped raise £290 for the Barnes Scout Group in Northallerton. The scout group are raising money for a new school to be built in India. The musical evening was held at Stokesley Methodist Church on Friday, March 28.
