AN all-inclusive sports club aimed at people aged 14 to 30 regardless of their physical, learning or sensory ability has unveiled its new spring programme.

New age kurling, boccia, golf, netball, cricket, softball, athletics, volleyball, goalball, basketball and football are on the bill at ‘On Side’.

The recently launched group is run by Tees Valley YMCA working with Hartlepool Council’s Sport and Physical Activity Team and Hartlepool College of Further Education.

The club meets every Monday evening at Belle Vue Community, Sports and Youth Centre in Kendal Road, Hartlepool, from 5pm to 7pm and sessions cost just £2.50 per person.

It would welcome volunteers, both able-bodied and people with disabilities, who could act as mentors to help members get the most out of sessions.

DOG HEALTH: Free health checks for dogs will be on offer again next week when the PDSA visits Hartlepool.

The charity will be providing the service from its Pet Check vehicle which will be at Seaton Carew coach park on Tuesday, March 25, and Wednesday, March 26, and Summerhill Country Park on Thursday, March 27, and Friday March 28, from 10am to 5pm.

A vet nurse will examine dogs weight, body-shape, teeth, eyes, coat and general fitness.
