SCORES of volunteers turned out to give Redcar beach a spring clean this morning.
The Marine Conservation Society event was part of the national Big Beach Clean Up project which aims to improve beaches for everyone.
Councillor Christopher Massey, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council’s cabinet member for environment and rural affairs, said: “Unfortunately litter and debris is an issue for beaches all over the UK, and the borough, so while the council does its best we’re always grateful for help.”
The volunteers all received a £5 Marks and Spencer voucher.
