A HEALTH group is looking for residents’ views on its strategy on good health and social care.

The North Yorkshire Health and Wellbeing Board has drafted a strategy looking at connecting communities, starting well, living well and ageing well.

The board aims to create places where communities can flourish and share services; to promote childhood health; look at ways people can live healthier lives; and encouraging people to take steps to stay independent for longer, and to address isolation.

The board is updating its existing Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy and has now put together an online questionnaire to find out what people living and working in North Yorkshire think about its proposals.

The strategy takes into account what local people have already said is important to them for their long term health and wellbeing; the latest evidence from the North Yorkshire Joint Strategic Needs Assessment; and changes in national policy, local ambition and people’s expectations.

Cllr Clare Wood said: “We think that focusing building a relationship with people who use the services we provide; having a skilled and flexible workforce; making best use of technology; and improving economic prosperity, will help all organisations achieve better outcomes.”

The consultation on the strategy is running until August 19 at www.northyorks.gov.uk/jhwsconsultation. A printed version of the questionnaire is available on 01609-780780 or customer.services@northyorks.gov.uk. The full strategy and a short summary document can be downloaded from www.northyorks.gov.uk/jhwsconsultation.
