A CALL for sites has been issued by Hambleton District Council which is asking agents to identify land which could be suitable for development and communities and which land they want to protect as local green space.

This forms part of the preparation of the new local plan for the district which will set out the policies on applications for new developments, identifying land suitable for housing, employment, and recreation up to 2035.

Development sites must be either within or next to existing settlements and be capable of development within the 15 year plan period.

The council says sites in the open countryside or which do not relate to an existing development will not be considered suitable, and warn submission of sites does not guarantee it will be suitable for development or taken forward in the plan.

The council would also like local communities to identify areas of local green space which they feel are demonstrably special to their communities and should be protected from new development.
