A stretch of road on the A170 near Sutton Bank in North Yorkshire is being monitored by highway bosses after six crashes in three years. A warning sign has been errected near Cragg House, after the crashes which involved several casualties. North Yorkshire county councillors have been told there has been one serious collision since works were carried out.
The site was at the top of the high risk register for the Hambleton area, which also includes the junction of the A168 Northallerton road, and the B1448 at South Kilvington after eight crashes in three years. Works to improve the junction including installing a road island have been put out to consultation.
