PEOPLE are being invited to have their say on updated proposals to charge a levy on new developments to deliver necessary infrastructure.

Hambleton District Council has launched a consultation on its plans for the Community Infrastructure Levy and is seeking views before looking for approval later this year.

The Community Infrastructure Levy was introduced by Government in 2010. It is a levy that local planning authorities can charge on new developments in their area.

The money raised can be used to support development by funding infrastructure that the council and local community have identified, such as new or safer road schemes, park improvements or a health centre.

Consultation on the CIL Draft Charging Schedule runs until 4pm on March 7. More information can be found via the Council’s website at: www.hambleton.gov.uk/cil or by contacting Andrew McCormack on 01609-767055 or by email: andrew.mccormack@hambleton.gov.uk
