A SCHEME to make it easier for residents to pay for Hambleton District Council services will be launched on Wednesday (September 25).

Residents are already able to pay for council tax, business rates, fixed penalty and parking fines and sundry debts payments online.

As part of the authority’s Changes To Payments scheme, residents will be invited to pay online for environmental health, planning, car parking cards, operational services, licensing, customer services and community leisure.

The council’s deputy leader, Councillor Peter Wilkinson said: “This will enable customers to pay for council’s services more easily and at a time that suits them.”

Before the end of the year further changes will be made to the council’s website to allow residents to book and pay for leisure facilities.

All card payments to the council will be suspended from 4pm tomorrow (Tuesday, September 24) until 2pm on Wednesday (September 25) to enable changes to the website to be completed.
