A SUCCESSFUL athletics contest for North Yorkshire children has just been completed.
More than 150 primary school children took part in the annual QuadKids finals held at the Allertonshire School in Northallerton.
It is part of the North Yorkshire School Games and involves teams of boys and girls competing in sprinting, running, throwing, standing long jump and fun relays. It is designed to provide a fun introduction to the discipline of athletics.
Eight teams from across North Yorkshire competed in three different age categories. Swainby and Potto Primary School represented the Hambleton district.
David Watson, North Yorkshire Sport director, said: “The day could not have turned out better, glorious weather and a fantastic venue provided the perfect back drop to some high quality competition. I would like to place on record my thanks to Hambleton District Council, Allertonshire School and QuadKids for their support to the event.”
