Racing probe: three released on bail
A MAJOR police inquiry into what is believed to have been a plan to rob or steal from the horse-racing community in North Yorkshire is continuing.
Three people arrested as part of the investigation late last week have now been released on bail to allow for further inquiries to be made.
Details of the probe remain sparse and police are saying little about the allegations for “operational reasons.”
But trainers and other connected with the racing industry are still being urged to remain on their guard and take security precautions when necessary.
A police spokesman said: “Officers are continuing to carry patrols in the areas used by members of the racing industry.
“We are also asking people to remain vigilant and to contact the police straight away if they see any suspicious behaviour.”
Anyone with information about suspicious activity should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
