Police name Durham City biker killed in weekend crash near Cockfield, Teesdale

POLICE have today (October 22) named a motorcyclist killed in a crash on Friday.

Jerzy Tomczyk, 29, from Bradford Crescent, Gilesgate, Durham City, was riding a Honda bike when he collided with a Citroen Berlingo van just after 6pm on Friday, October 19.

The accident happened on the A688 near Cockfield, Teesdale.

The van driver, a 68-year-old man from Gainford, near Darlington, suffered shock but was otherwise unhurt.

Witnesses to the crash are asked to call the police on 0191-3752159.
