THE director of a skip hire company stripped of its waste permits for flouting environmental rules has been arrested.

Raymond Shepherd, 58, from Albert Hill Skip Hire, in Darlington, was detained by police after allowing the business, found guilty of ten charges of operating without Environment Agency permits at its their Dodsworth Street and Whessoe Road bases between 2008 and 2010, to illegally continue processing waste.

Mr Shepherd, of West Musgrave Farm, was warned by police to refrain from working with controlled waste without valid Environment Agency permits after a five-week trial at Teesside Magistrates’ Court in August.

He was bailed to be sentenced, but officers, who had issued Shepherd with notices to stop working without permits, arrested him on the suspicion he had continued to trade in processing waste.

He is due to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court this afternoon on charges of breaching his bail conditions.

Contemptible man thinks he is above the law.

I hope he is treated with as much disregard inside.

Yet again Raymond Shepherd disregards the law, today Thursday 18th October 2012, his brother and the current Director of Albert Hill Skip Hire, is still collecting waste and dumping, infact two skips lorries this morning busy collecting waste and delivering skips, one skip lorry being driven by Paul Stuart Shepherd. EA and Police Paul Stuart Shepherd needs stopped also.

On 20th August 2012, Albert Hill Skip Hire was given three months to remove all the waste at the former waste site, one month to go and nothing has been removed, they will do nothing and the taxpayers will pick up the bill for clearing their mess.
