AID: Reverend Flight Lieutenant Ian Brown and Reverend Wing Commander Jan Taylor of RAF Leeming’s St Bede’s Church, with some of the donated food for the Middlesbrough Food Bank
A FOOD bank has benefited from the generosity of RAF personnel who donated goods as part of their harvest festival celebrations.
The congregation from RAF Leeming’s Station Church collected food for the Middlesbrough Food Bank in response to recent reports on the increase in child poverty in the region.
Reverend (Flight Lieutenant) Ian Brown, one of RAF Leeming’s Padres, said: “The food we have collected will be packaged up by staff at the Middlesbrough Food Bank, and each package is intended to feed a family of four for up to five days.
“It is aimed at providing immediate relief to families in crisis, and the Middlesbrough Food Bank also provides a signposting service to support agencies.”
More details of the Middlesbrough food bank can be found at the Middlesbrough Community Church (St Aidan’s Centre) on Clifton Street, or by calling 07954-131337 or e-mailing info@middlesbroughfoodbank.org.uk.
