Thirsk man wanted for recall to prison
POLICE are hunting a man wanted for recall to prison.
Joshua Lee Sargent, 20, was released from prison on Friday, September 14 but breached the terms of his licence by not living at a specified address.
He had been sentenced to three year’s imprisonment in April 2011 for a robbery committed at Ripon Market Place about a month earlier.
Although his whereabouts are unknown, Sargent was living in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, and is originally from Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
Acting Chief Inspector Mark Gee, of Hambleton and Richmondshire Safer Neighbourhood Command, said Sargent’s behaviour would only increase his prison term when caught.
He said: “Joshua, if you see or hear this appeal, I urge you to hand yourself in to the nearest police station immediately. Every day that you remain at large will only increase the term of your sentence when you are caught.
“If anyone knows where Joshua Sargent is or you have seen a man matching his description, please contact the police or Crimestoppers straight away.
“You are not doing him or society any favours by allowing him to evade justice.
“Officers will continue to check with known associates, visit likely addresses and continue the search to locate and arrest him.”
Anyone who can help to locate Joshua Sargent should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 and pass the information to the force control room, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
