AN artisan cheese maker has agreed a deal with a supermarket chain to sell its products at more than 100 stores nationwide.

Shepherds Purse, of Thirsk , North Yorkshire, has secured listings for its latest innovations, Harrogate Blue and Bluemin White, with Sainsbury’s.

The cheeses, which picked up gold medals at the Global Cheese Awards and Nantwich International Cheese festival will join the Shepherds Purse’s bestselling Yorkshire Blue on the supermarket’s deli counter.

All three products will be making their debut in redesigned packaging featuring Shepherds Purse branding, which aims to reflect the straightforward qualities of the family company.

Caroline Bell, the firm’s director, said: “We are delighted to have secured further listings for our artisan cheeses in Sainsbury’s.”
