LEADING SHOW: Keith Jack as Joseph, at Darlington Civic Theatre
ONE of the longest-running musicals is in the region next week.
Smash-hit show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be staged at Darlington Civic Theatre, Darlington, from September 18 to 22.
The Bill Kenwright production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical features Keith Jack in the title role.
Jack was second in the BBC series Any Dream Will Do and has taken over the dreamcoat from show winner Lee Mead. First seen in 1968 as a 15 minute pop cantata written for a London school’s end-ofterm concert, the show has become one of the world’s most established and successful musicals.
It is the longest-running touring stage musical, having toured provincial theatres in the UK for more than 20 years.
Ticket prices range from £17.50 to £29.50.
