Car overturns and crashes into Cod Beck near Osmotherley

THE emergency services were called to a popular beauty spot tonight after a car overturned and crashed into a stream.

The vehicle was travelled from Swainby to Osmotherley, near Northallerton , North Yorkshire, when it came off the road at an area known locally as Sheepwash, and ended up in Cod Beck.

It was initially feared that people were trapped in the car, but a spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, said the occupants managed to get themselves free, and were unhurt.

The incident took place at 8.30pm and fire crews from Northallerton, and paramedics, attended the scene.
