A JUDGE has issued a final warning to a man who has repeatedly pestered his father despite a court order barring him from going near him.

Lee Shutt, 25, from Middlesbrough, was told yesterday that if he bothers his father, Ronald, again he will go straight to prison.

Shutt was given a restraining order two years ago after a lengthy history of harassing his adoptive parent, Teesside Crown Court heard.

In 2004, he punched his father in the face during an argument, Carla Abrantes- Stanworth, prosecuting, told Judge Gillian Matthews.

He told staff at the University Hospital of Hartlepool that he was going to kill Mr Shutt and had bought two samurai swords in January last year.

The restraining order was imposed in September 2010 for offences of making threats to kill, possessing an offensive weapon and common assault.

Sean Grainger, mitigating, said Shutt suffered “a mixedup and difficult” childhood and his behaviour was provoked by unresolved problems.

Mr Grainger said he was on medication and receiving counselling, and had the support of a dedicated probation officer and a partner.

“He is a young man with a lot of problems and he is a very lucky young man with all those people who are prepared to help him,” he added.

Shutt, of Tollesby Bridge, Coulby Newham, admitted breaching the restraining order and was given a 24-week jail sentence, suspended for two years.
