TV antique experts battle it out during visit to region

SALE DAY: Anita Manning and Jonathan Pratt at the auction SALE DAY: Anita Manning and Jonathan Pratt at the auction

BARGAIN hunting antiques experts filming for a national TV programme stopped at a North-East auctioneer to sell their wares.

Specialists Anita Manning and Jonathan Pratt were at Thomas Watson auctioneers, in Darlington, yesterday, filming for BBC 2 show Antiques Road Trip.

The show follows antiques experts as they travel across the UK competing to make the biggest profit from buying and selling antiques. After searching for items across the North-East, the pair visited the auction house to sell their pieces.

Auctioneer Peter Robinson said: “It was a brilliant day with a fantastic turnout – at one point we had about 200 people here.

“The pair had ten lots up, including a couple of watches, a fireplace, and a blue and white relish dish, and they were really happy with how it turned out.”

It is not known when the show will be broadcast.
