Dolls invade Thirsk church
12:50pm Monday 20th August 2012 in News
A CHURCH congregation will be rubbing shoulders with some unusual guests for the rest fo this month.
St Mary’s Church at Thirsk is playing host to an exhibition of dolls in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Dolly Mixtures features a wide range of dolls and associated items - baby dolls, fashion dolls, antique and modern, collector’s items and dearly loved companions from all eras.
All visitors to the exhibition, young and old, are invited to bring a doll with them to meet the exhibits which have been begged, borrowed and specially purchased from far and wide.
The exhibition is open daily until August 31 from 10am to 4pm except on Sundays when it is open noon to 4pm. Admission is free but donations to church funds are welcome.
Lunchtime visitors to the exhibition on Bank Holiday Monday - August 27 - will be treated to an organ recital by David Jackson from 12.15pm to 12.45pm.
