Northallerton-Thirsk road closed after crash

Police and fire crews were at the scene of a serious road crash this morning on the road between Northallerton and Thirsk.
A local man was seriously injured in the incident on the A168 two miles south of Northallerton after a collision between a lorry and a small silver car at about 5.40am.
Police said the road was likely to remain closed until lunchtime.
A fire brigade spokesman said they expected to be on the scene for some time helping police deal with the incident.
Traffic was diverted via the A684 and A19.
