Tractor collides with van

A TRACTOR pulling a hedge trimmer and a green Renault Traffic van crashed on a North Yorkshire road today.
Police were called to the incident near the Millbry Hill pet and horse supplies store at Broken Brea, on the B6271 between Brompton-on-Swale and Richmond.
It is believed the van became lodged under the tractor and the arm of the hedge trimmer smashed the van windscreen.
Nobody was seriously hurt in the crash, but the van driver suffered cuts to his head.
A police spokesperson said: “Fire and Rescue teams were also called out to the incident just before 2pm today but were not needed.
“Both drivers were out of their vehicles when we arrived at the scene and traffic was still able to move freely.”

A Tractor pulling a hedge trimmer !!!! involved in an accident. Have you seen the size of these things ? Now one of two things MUST have happened; 1)The Tractor was speeding or 2) The Van driver didn't see the tractor...........mi
nd boggling, can't wait for the outcome. Unless of course sanity prevails and it was some pratt using his mobile.

Tractor was doing less than 5mph, arm extending vertical over fence into the verge trimming trees/bushes. Blind sweeping left hand corner that can comfortably be taken at 45-55mph, but eye lead distance is only 15-20m tops. Van comes round at this speed, no time to react. Veers left into verge/fence line (veering right could have led to head on crash), vehicle stopped by cutter going through windscreen/roof. Van driver very lucky, spinning blades through his windscreen at speed, inches from his head. Would criticise van driver for going too fast, but not in a position to, and neither are 99% of people who use the road. Any other day, you wouldnt think he was driving at an excessive speed. Lesson to all for when driving on rural roads!

No, no. It says quite clearly (and newspapers are never wrong) that the tractor was pulling a hedge trimmer and a green renault van. So, the tractor must have stopped suddenly and the renault van must have run into the hedge trimmer and bashed the hedge trimmer into the tractor.

Obvious.

I think ;-)

This is so funny, take corner comfortably at 45-55 but only see 20m??? Are you mad? Anyone driving that RECKLESS, which is what it plainly is, deserves all they get, pity the poor bloke he hits!! "No time to react" Drive at a speed where you can react...is that not common sense?? jeezz some idiots on here?
