Major fire at poultry farm

AN electrical fauilt is believed to have caused a fire which severely damaged a large shed at a poultry farm near Thirsk.
Firefighters were alerted to the incident, at Sessay, shortly before 8am today and crews from Easingwold, Boroughbridge, Ripon, Harrogate, York and Northallerton attended.
Crews used two small jets and two hose reel jets to bring the blaze under control and stop it spreading and the fire was extinguished soon after 10am.
However two crews remained at the farm to monitor the scene and remove insulation from the roof to help cooling.
The building which contained various farm machinery, suffered 50 per cent fire damage.
