WALKERS will make an early start on Sunday in time to catch the dawn chorus.
The outing, organised by Darlington Borough Council countryside team for International Dawn Chorus Day, starts at Broken Scar picnic area, off Coniscliffe Road, at 5.30am. It will set off along the path beside the Tees and end with breakfast at Piercebridge Organic Farm Café.
As well as listening to the birds singing at full throttle, walkers will be given facts about wildlife in the area.
Places, which cost £5 for breakfast, must be booked in advance; there is no transport provided from Piercebridge back to Broken Scar and dogs are not permitted. Contact 01325- 388728.
