Ice warning for motorists

4:00pm Monday 30th November 2009

DRIVERS are warned to take great care on roads across North Yorkshire tonight and Tuesday morning with driving conditions expected to be hazardous.

Overnight temperatures are set to plummet to -5c adding to the risk already caused by heavy rainfall.

"There is a danger of widespread ice on untreated roads, but even on treated roads driving conditions may be difficult," said a county council spokesman.

Officials are advising all drivers on the roads this evening, tonight and tomorrow morning to take particular care and take heed of weather warnings.
