POLICE are investigating a burglary at a horse riding school which caters for disabled people.
The incident occurred at the premises on Black Horse Lane, in Potto, North Yorkshire, between 10pm yesterday and 7.30am today.
Burglars forced open a barn door before entering two secure tack rooms.
Items stolen included saddles, bridles and head collars, along with a white Bateman horse trailer with the registration number T885JUG.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “This is a particularly sickening burglary bearing in mind the owners of the horse riding school do so much good for the local community.
“It is vital that the suspects are arrested and brought to justice as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact PC Peter Henderson at Stokesley police station, on 0845-60-60-24-7.
Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers, by calling 0800-555-111.
