BOOKWORMS and post card collectors from around the region are expected to flock to a popular fair this weekend.

More than 30 traders have taken stalls at the antiquarian and second-hand book and post card fair, which is being held at Bedale High School, in North Yorkshire, on Sunday.

The fair, which is in its ninth year, is being held to raise funds for the Northallerton branch of the Friends of Chernobyl’s Children charity.

Organiser Denny Gibson said the event usually attracts visitors from the North-East, North Yorkshire and further afield.

She said: "One couple from Somerset come to the fair on their way to visit their son, in Glasgow.

"We do get people coming from all over the North, and from places like Lancashire and Lincolnshire."

A total of 33 stalls have been pre-booked by dealers for the fair, which runs from 10am to 4pm.

Refreshments and free parking will be available.

Admission costs £1 for adults, children go free.
