Shopping trolleys are no longer confined to the supermarket sweep and one woman from Blackheath has captured the alternative and versatile uses of this 20th Century shopping necessity...
Samantha Mouncer, of Casterbridge Road, Blackheath, has taken 500 pictures showing both the quirky and the zany side of the trolley.
All of the pictures, ranging from trolleys being discarded in phone booths, dumped in scrap yards and rusting in rivers, show trolleys as they were found None of them were staged.
The 32-year-old has taken pictures all over the country and has covered the whole of south London including Petts Wood, Bromley, Lewisham and Bexley.
Ms Mouncer said: "It all started a couple of years ago when I saw a bloke shovelling snow into a shopping trolley at a ski resort.
"I thought it was quite quirky and since then I keep seeing trolleys everywhere in quirky situations.
"It wasnt that difficult, it didnt take over my life, when you keep an eye out its an easy sideline thing to do."
She is currently approaching publishers about the possibility of a book and Woolwich-based Stephen Lawrence Gallery to organise an exhibition.
