The Station Singers in Richmond will support the Save our Swale campaign group at their upcoming spring concert, Songs for a Fragile World.
The group's three community choirs are near the end of rehearsals for the concert on Saturday, April 13 at 6.30pm in St Mary’s Church, Richmond.
The choirs have taken an environmental theme in their chosen music to tie in with the work of the Save our Swale team, which is campaigning to improve water quality for both recreation and wildlife.
A Station Singers' spokesperson said: "As a Richmond-based choir, for whom the River Swale is central, we are hoping for strong local support.
"In addition, the joint choirs will perform ‘Yanomamo’ a powerful piece about the destruction of the Brazilian rainforest and we will be welcoming the composer’s (Peter Rose) sister and Anne Conlon, the librettist, as guests."
Tickets are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/the-station-singers, www.richmondstationsingers.co.uk or the Save our Swale Facebook page.
There will be a raffle and bucket collection on the night so audience members are asked to bring cash.
