Some 50 pub regulars, and a dog, turned up at the Voyager pub in Guisborough last Friday morning, to take part in a charity walk with a difference.

The group were transported to Brotton and then walked the seven miles back to the Voyager visiting eight pubs, with a drink in each, hence the name as the Gallon Walk.

Each had to contribute £50 to take part and supporters were asked to contribute to the event.

The volunteers were suitably refreshed with bacon butties before boarding a Generation bus, which took them free of charge to Brotton, to start at the Railway Arms.

The group then set off to walk back to the Voyager by calling in at a further six pubs, the Longacre and the Wharton Arms at Skelton, the Miners Arms at New Skelton, the Top House at Boosbeck, the Retriever at Charltons, and the Guisborough Rugby Club, on the way before finishing at the Voyager for a final drink.
