The Teesside Wind Band is made of up of local musicians who enjoy playing for fun, performing regular concerts and social events.

Last Sunday, the band, under director Jason Mitchell, performed at Gisborough Priory, in aid of the Gisborough Priory Project. The event was blessed with fine weather with the sun poking through the clouds throughout the performance.

Some 150 spectators turned up to sit on the grass or brought their own chairs to hear a selection of band music. The performance started with Eric Osterling's superb concert march Bandology, but then progressed on to well-known favourites from the Sound of Music, and Sousa’s Liberty Bell.

The second half performances included excerpts from Mamma Mia, Lady Gaga and the Jersey Boys, completing the programme with a Disney spectacular. The performance was enjoyed by the audience scattered around the Priory site and was a pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the sun with music, many bringing their chairs and refreshments.
